Elderflower contains diaphoretic, diuretic, anticatarrhal, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Elder is a protector and guardian of the garden indeed. In Greek mythology, Sambucus translates to Sambuca - the flute of pan. Pan is king of the underworld, the delvic kingdom & nature spirits.
